![]() Reinstalled those valves and the fast slow valve leaks terribly and now it doesn't just turn a quarter turn each way like it used to before I removed it but now it just keeps turning either direction and can be pushed in and out. I took apart both the isolator valve and the fast / slow valve in front of seat area, inspected them (not sure why since I know nothing.lol) tried to change the O rings but couldn't find any in our county that seemed to be the proper ones (cost me $30 and four hours). Original owner had used this to seal up the suction tube hole in order to stop leak.I removed it all, replaced O ring, re-installed and it does indeed leak very sure what to do next to fix that. I removed suction line to check for clogs in filter (filter was gone only wire mesh was there) but I did notice some Permatex or silicone had gotten inside the unit and stuck to the mesh and am worried there is a plugged hole somewhere. I will add my encountered problems as well in case others read this and it happens to them. Here is what I have done so far.and I did get it to steer a bit easier in one direction. I have ZERO experience with tractor related items including hydraulics but I am sure am trying to learn all of this so I can get mine back into use and not fear that I am going to break it. I am currently in the same situation with my new to me B414 (serial 1043) and I am trying to find what a newbie like myself can try in order to make steering easier. And three, it ran my baler! Turned up speed adjustment stop just a notch and shortened up governor linkage, big difference. Two being economical as heck, i put it on my square baler and burned a couple gallons of gas to bale all day. Anybody swapped entire system or know of a parts donor? Or should i send it down the road because my wife cant steer it? It has impressed me in several settings, one being the diff lock it will outpull some tractors twice its size. This is manual steering column, not hyd steering motor like later b-414 and predecessors like 434, 444 etc. Suspect this is issues but no parts are available for valve or steering cylinder. Not sure spring is correct, polished out some scoring, and seems like missing a spacer or something. Hydraulics work as far as hitch, etc but steering is a bear. I replaced fluid and filter, cleaned system, swapped hyd pump, etc. I have a early s/n b-414 (s/n 1275) with "power steering" has single pump and valve by clutch housing.
